The mark of a good restaurant comes from a combination of the quality of the food, the service you receive and the atmosphere of which it holds. And Warriorz Kitchen, I’m delighted to say, has all three.

As we sat down, we were greeted by the owner who explained that on Fridays, they had a fish exclusive menu. The regular menu was served Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and on Sunday they are open for breakfast and have a Carvery style dinner menu.

As it was Friday, I ordered the Share Platter for Two ($36.90) to split with another person in our party. The platter had garlic butter mussels, teriyaki barramundi pieces, salt & pepper squid, tempura prawns and two sauces. It also came with salad and chips on the side. The other two people in our party both ordered the Creamy Garlic Prawns with Rice ($19.90). We also ordered a serve of salt & pepper squid ($12.50) as a starter to share between us.

The starter came out extremely quickly and it was evident from first appearance that the quid was crumbed fresh. I took my first bite and it was delightfully tender with a delicious flavour. The tartare sauce on the side was also obviously house-made and it was the perfect accompaniment to the squid.

Once we were done, the plates were cleared by the owner and our mains came out within a few minutes. I was very happy when the platter was placed between us, along with the bowl of chips and salad. The portion was very generous for the price and the presentation was excellent. I couldn’t wait to dive in.

I decided to start with the mussels. They were a great size and each had a nice amount of garlic butter on them. As I had my first mussel, the flavours of subtle garlic was the perfect addition to delicious shellfish. The garlic butter added a gorgeous flavour without being overwhelming.

The salt and pepper squid was just as nice as the serve we had as a starter and the teriyaki barramundi pieces were flaky and full of flavour. The homemade tartare sauce was perfect with the tempura prawns and the generous serve of salad and chips were a great addition to balance out all the seafood.

I also tried one of the creamy garlic prawns which was served with salad and rice. The prawns were fresh and the sauce had a delicious subtle garlic flavour without being too rich and heavy.

After the mains had been cleared, we ordered dessert which was a blueberry brûlée cheesecake ($8.50). To say the dessert was superb is an understatement. It was creamy but not too decadent and was served with fresh blueberries, whipped cream and a raspberry coulis. It was the perfect way to end the meal.

The Warriorz Kitchen is an affordable place to go out to eat with great service, delicious meals and a comfortable dining experience. It is fantastic value for money and I can’t wait to visit again.
