This slow cooked Beef Stroganoff is a classic family favourite that is perfect any time of the year! Slow cooked for tender, flavoursome beef; this is also a great budget meal!
Beef Stroganoff is one of those hearty comfort foods that just seems to soothe the soul. And it’s so much better cooked in a slow cooker! It’s easy, it’s creamy and full of flavour and the best part is you can put it on before you go to work and come home to a delicious dinner!
What Makes This Version Better?
There are a few main differences between this slow cooked Beef Stroganoff and the classic stovetop version.
- It’s made with cheaper cuts of meat rather than higher quality, more expensive cuts which makes it a great budget meal for families!
- Allowing the sauce to slow cook gives it much deeper and tastier flavours, which means one delicious dinner!
- The beef is so tender that the meat literally just falls apart in your mouth! I mean, you can break it apart with a spoon.
Can I Substitute Chuck Steak for a Different cut?
You can absolutely use any type of stewing cuts of beef! Here are a few suggestions…
- Beef Cheeks
- Blade Steak
- Beef Brisket
Sometimes you may even be able to buy packs of diced beef labeled ‘Stewing Steak’ or ‘Casserole Beef’ which comes in handy as it’s pre-diced.
