- Combine flour and water in a large bowl. Knead together until dough is formed, adding more water if mixture is too dry or more flour if too sticky
- Dust bench with extra flour and press out to 2cm thickness. cut into rough squares
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a large frying pan on high heat. Shallow fry dough squares on each side until golden. Remove from oil and serve immediately with golden syrup
