Homemade Mexican Spice Mix

- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp cumin
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp ground chilli powder
- ¼ tsp paprika
- ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper see notes
- This spice mix has a pretty mild heat level, but can easily be made hotter by adding more cayenne pepper.
- To use the spice mix, simply brown off 500g of meat - I usually use minced beef - in a large frying pan until just cooked. Add the spice mix along with 2-3 tbsp of water and stir to combine. Continue cooking until the water has evaporated and the meat is cooked through.
